SUGAR & SPICE & EVERYTHING NICE!

I survived another Sundance Festival!! I can't believe it was my fourth one! To crazy! Here's a little update on what I have been up to lately in no particular order!

The first week of January I did a 5 day DETOX!! Ugh, talk about awful! It's called RESET by USANA. It was a low glycemic detox. Everyday I had 3 protein shakes, 2 low glycemic protein bars, 1 serving of fruit and 1 serving of vegetables. Plus at least 64 oz of water. Very different from my regular diet of eggos, chocolate milk, mudslide cookies from Einsteins, Zupas salad, and Nuttella from the jar! It's supposed to reset your body so you don't crave sugars. What I learned was:

1. Detox is a fancy word for LAXATIVE!!! The second day was pretty bad and it got better after that but not the funnest thing ever when you have to go to work everyday! To make things worse, our sponsors provided us free lunch almost everyday that week and I couldn't eat it!
2. You are supposed to drink half your body weight in oz of water daily. More if you work out. Water was the most important thing with this detox. That was the hardest part for me. I wasn't used to drinking that much water.
3. My co-workers were very nervous about how not having sugar would affect my mood at work! I am pleased to say that I didn't not murder any of them!
4. You really can survive without sugar!
5. It's hard to change your eating habits but it can be done with hard work and dedication!

I survived the 5 days and yes, I still eat sugar but not as much as I used to! I make sure I get at least 64 oz of water a day! I notice a big difference when I don't drink enough water. I feel better during my work outs!

The pole studio I go to has been on the news a lot lately. Here is a link to one of the segments from channel 2 News. I was in the background awkwardly stretching. Here is the link if you want to watch it: http://connect2utah.com/recipes-and-life/fresh-living-main it's the 3rd video down. Below are some pictures of moves I'm working on/dreaming about being able to do someday!
One of my instructors, Rina, doing the Butterfly. She's hard core and pretty much the coolest person ever! I'm pretty sure she's going to make me cry at least once in class!! Kind of reminds me of Jillian Michaels.
Sara, another instructor, doing a variation of the jasmine, I think! Also totally amazing!
Somer and Sara doing an inside leg hang. Eventually my friend Rachel and I are going to do doubles once I get good!

Becca doing an armpit hold. Super hard!!!
I'm not strong enough to either of these yet!

Over Christmas Olivia and I made Red Velvet Cake Balls!! I had never made them before so it was a fun experiment for me and Olivia! Maybe not so much for Cookie because she had to clean her up after, hahha!!! But we had so much fun!!

Plus, look how happy she is!!! The mess was worth it! Her decorating skills are most impressive! Sure do love that little sassy goober!!
I got a pedicure before the festival. Our logo this year was the Snowflake!!
I brought Olivia and baby Rose some hats from the fest!

At my lodging I had a twin and we parked next to each other everyday!
This was my lodging. It's looks like a jail with a hot tub in the middle of it. So weird!
Here is the bullet hole in the elevator! Or at least it looked like one. Super sketchy!
Oh, my co-worker Mike LoPresti in the most disgusting hot tub ever! yuck!!!
This my co-worker Gabi, we had a volunteer who made ballon animals! She has an alien on her head! Talk about some serious talent there!
Noelle, Me, and Whitney! 3 besties!!
Dancing up a storm at the fanciest bowling alley I've ever been to! That's Park City for you!
My buddy Shawn!
Ice skating adventure with Sundancers! Me, Hiro, and Noelle

Stretching!
The Volunteer Departments "Just the Vest" photo!! It's a long story and I borrowed and 3xlarge to make a dress!
